  • OBJECTIVE
It has been 5000 years since Silver appeared in human history. A great number of people within that   time have placed their value and happiness in the special attributes of Silver. The Silver Accessories Contest has been held since 1999 for Art Clay instructors, and was opened to general artists in 2002 so that contestants could present to the world their limitless ideas regarding the joy of creativity when working and creating with Art Clay Silver. In 2023, we celebrate the 18th contest, and have counted a total of 7,278 submissions in the past 17 competitions. These contest entries represent a bridge of creativity linking artists and visitors as one. Your entries will help all people appreciate that Art Clay Silver can be used by everyone. We are expecting that this year’s entries will once again capture the unique expressions of contestants around the world.

  • CONTEST GUIDELINES
Qualification: All individuals (including Art Clay certified instructors and students) including hobbyists or professional artists. (No submissions by groups of artists are accepted)
Media: All pieces must use Art Clay Silver as the main material, but can combine Art Clay Silver with other media is acceptable.
Design: Designs must be original and realized by one’s own skill, and must be executed with Art Clay Silver and with/or without other media. All contestants must select the theme “Stories” or “Open theme”.
Other: Pieces previously submitted to other competitions or exhibitions will be disqualified.


  • DISQUALIFICATION GUIDELINES- READ CAREFULLY!
Please read and comply with all rules and requirements to avoid disqualification.

All entries must;1) comply with contest guidelines. 2) submit a complete application. 3) pay entry fee. 4) be submitted by the due date. 5) Please make sure that your entry has not been presented in any other contests, exhibitions, and/or magazines/ books/ and /or posted on Social Networkding Service such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter etc. to avoid disqualification 6) not be an infringement of or similar to any other or past artist’s work.
 
*Contest committee reserves the right to set new requirements if any other cases arise besides those stated above.

             Please fill out the designated application form, entry Label and ID tag. Follow the example when completing the form
             and submit with the entries.
  • APPLICATION FORM (One sheet per work required. Please copy blank sheet and submit if necessary. Please make a copy and keep for yourself)
  • ENTRY LABEL
  • ID tag (Please attach an ID tag to each pieces of your work. If you cannot tie up the tag, attach it on the backside of the piece with sticky tape.)

DUE DATE for ENTRIES
  • Send your entries  (participants from Malaysia) with completed applications as following schedule.
  • Submission must arrive at FINE METAL STUDIO either by post or walk in before :  May 15th, 2023
  • Entries received after the deadline will not be accepted.

* Please make your work durable enough to be handled for packing, unpacking, display, judging, photographing, exhibiting, and resending overseas.
* Please pack your entry / entries carefully to avoid any damage during shipping and handling.
* If the contestant’s entry is in several pieces, please enclose each piece in a separate box.
* The original packing material will not be returned.
* Instruct the contestants not to send entries directly to Aida Chemical Industries. The respective overseas distributors will receive and send the entries.
* Please provide the insurance coverage by your courier if necessary.

FIRST SCREENING, FINAL JUDGING, EXHIBITION SCHEDULE & LOCATION

Only submissions which pass the first screening will be introduced in the contest booklet, and will be displayed at the contest exhibition. *Please see “EXHIBITION SCHEDULE” below.
 
■ FINAL JUDGING
Date: JUL. 12th (Wed), 2023
Award winners will be selected from the nominees of the first screening. The results will be announced to the representative distributor promptly after the final judgement.

*Please note that the exhibition venue may constrain any special display requirements you may request for your submission on the application form. We may not be able to use stands or other extra decorative accessories for your submission piece due to the Art Center’s display and safety guidelines.

The ceremony location will be announced to all distributors as soon as ceremony details are finalized.

  • RETURNING OF ENTRIES
All the entries will be returned from AIDA to local distributors after Oct. 23rd (Mon), 2023

  • LIMITATION OF WARRANTY, DAMAGES, and LOSS.
Your entries will be handled carefully and duly kept. However, company insurance only covers items while in the individual care of AIDA, not during international shipping and handling which falls under shipping company policy. While AIDA will take the very best of care when handling your pieces, there is always a possibility of damage or loss which the contestant should take into consideration. Any damage by accident or pilferage / loss occurring during and the competition and the exhibition will be reasonably covered under existing company insurance coverage which is limited up to USD 5,000 or JPY 500,000 per entry. Only financial reimbursement for the value of the perceived damage will be issued to compensate for such damage. Please provide additional insurance coverage by yourself if necessary. *Note that we cannot be responsible for the natural discoloring of the silver piece from silver’s sulfurization during submission period and return to contestant.

  • PUBLICITY RIGHTS OF ENTRIES
Art Clay Club Japan and AIDA Chemical Industries Co., Ltd. Aida reserves the rights to display, photograph and publish any images and/or contestant’s explanation of the submitted pieces for the contest. These photographs may be used in an exhibition catalog and/or any other printed material for publicity and educational purpose by AIDA. The artist will be duly credited for any images or information used.

  • Policy for Protecting Individual's Information. 
The Committee for the SAC 2023, and Aida Chemical Industries Co., Ltd., will protect the individual’s personal information with the utmost confidentiality. The obtained information will only be used for administrative purposes for the contest, the exhibition, and the announcement of results. We will not disclose the obtained information to any third party for any other purpose.
